U.S. Marine with 3rd MLR saves life on highway

U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Daniel J. Pacheco, a CH-53 Super Stallion pilot and the air officer with 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal after helping save a fellow Marine's life following a motorcycle crash on the Pali Highway, Oahu, Hawaii, on Oct. 26, 2025.

Joint COMMEX, 3rd and 12th MLR alongside 3rd MDTF

3rd Marine Littoral Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, conducted a joint training exercise aimed at enhancing and synchronizing communications capabilities at Marine Corps Training Area Bellows, Hawaii, Oct. 22, 2025. This communications exercise involved collaboration between U.S. Marines with 3rd MLR and U.S. Army Soldiers from the 3rd Multi-Domain Task Force, as well as participation from U.S. Marines with 12th Marine Littoral Regiment based out of Okinawa, Japan.

3d MLR Explores Littoral Mobility with U.S. Army

The commanding officer of 3d Marine Littoral Regiment (MLR), 3d Marine Division, and the commodore of commander, Submarine Squadron 1 (CSS 1) strengthened inter-service cooperation during a familiarization tour aboard the Virginia-class fast-attack submarine USS Vermont (SSN 792) on Aug. 14, 2025, signifying growing collaboration between U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Navy forces in the Indo-Pacific region.

3d MAINT Bn keeps 3d MLR mission ready

U.S. Marines with 3rd Maintenance Battalion (3rd MAINT Bn), 3rd Marine Logistics Group (3rd MLG), traveled from Okinawa, Japan, to restore and maintain tactical equipment in support of 3d Marine Littoral Regiment (3d MLR), 3rd Marine Division, following the regiment's deployment to the Philippines.

3d MLR Conducts Simulated Maritime Strikes with NMESIS

Strategically positioned on an island in the Luzon Strait, U.S. Marines with 3d Littoral Combat Team, 3d Marine Littoral Regiment, 3d Marine Division, established a Fires Expeditionary Advanced Base (EAB) with the Navy-Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System (NMESIS) and conducted simulated maritime interdiction as a part of Exercise KAMANDAG 9, June 1, 2025. The event was tied to a larger Maritime Key Terrain Security Operation (MKTSO), during which U.S. Marines with 3d LCT and Philippine Marines with Marine Battalion Landing Team 10 rehearsed securing and defending key maritime terrain in the advancement of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.
