U.S. Marine Corps 1st Lt. Brett O’Connell rappels from a building during a Helicopter Rope Suspension Techniques Master Course on Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Dec. 6, 2023. The course was led by HRST Master Instructors with III Expeditionary Operations Training Group, based in Okinawa, Japan, who travelled to Hawaii to certify Marines with 3d Littoral Combat Team as HRST Masters. With the certification, HRST Masters can train Marines to safely and effectively perform helicopter insertions and extractions, rappels, and other rope techniques.
