Commanding Officer, 3d Littoral Anti-Air Battalion
Lieutenant Colonel Matthew E. Sladek
A native of Lacey WA, Lieutenant Colonel Sladek enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1999.  He commissioned in 2007 from the United States Naval Academy.
 
Lieutenant Colonel Sladek's Fleet Marine Force assignments include Aviation Logistics Tactical Information System Technician, Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 13 2000-2001; S-6, Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 163 (REIN), 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit 2001-2002; Platoon Commander and Executive Officer, Battery A, 3d Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion 2008-2010; Team Leader, Border Transition Team 2010; Battery Commander, Battery A and Assistant Operations Officer, 2d Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion 2012-2015; Operations Officer, 3d Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion 2019-2020; Officer in Charge, Marine Air Control Group Detachment, Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 164 (REIN), 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit 2020-2021; Plans Officer, Marine Air Control Group 38 2021-2022; Deputy Plans Officer, 3d Marine Aircraft Wing 2022-2023; and Operations Officer, Marine Air Control Group 38 2023-2024.
 
Lieutenant Colonel Sladek has deployed and participated in Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.  During Marine Expeditionary Unit deployments he served aboard the USS PELELIU (LHA-5), USS MAKIN ISLAND (LHD-8), and USS SAN DIEGO (LPD-22).
 
Lieutenant Sladek's staff assignments included serving as the Counter Unmanned Aircraft System Capability Integration Officer, Capabilities Development Directorate, Deputy Commandant Combat Development and Integration.
 
In June 2024, Lieutenant Colonel Sladek reported for duty at 3d Marine Littoral Regiment.  He assumed command of 3d Littoral Anti-Air Battalion on 28 June 2024.
 
Lieutenant Colonel Sladek is a graduate of the Low Altitude Air Defense Basic Officer's Course, Expeditionary Warfare School, Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course, and Marine Corps Command and Staff College. His  personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (one gold star), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two gold stars), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two gold stars), and the Combat Action Ribbon.
