Commanding Officer, 3d Littoral Combat Team
Lieutenant Colonel Timothy W. Love

Lieutenant Colonel Love is the commanding officer of 3d Littoral Combat Team. He graduated from Salisbury University and commissioned via the Officer Candidate Course in 2006.

Following the Basic and Infantry Officer Courses, Second Lieutenant Love served with 3d Battalion, 6th Marines. He deployed to Fallujah, Iraq as a rifle platoon commander and to Marjah, Afghanistan as the 81mm mortar platoon commander.

First Lieutenant Love transferred to Infantry Training Battalion, School of Infantry - East, where he served initially as a company commander and later as the battalion operations officer.

After completing the US Army Maneuver Captain's Career Course, Captain Love deployed as the Weapons Company commander and fire support coordinator for Battalion Landing Team 2/1, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. His next assignment was the aide de camp to the Commanding General, 1st Marine Division.

Major Love graduated from the Marine Corps Command & Staff College and the School of Advanced Warfighting before serving as a planner in the II Marine Expeditionary Force G-5.

He deployed as the executive officer of Battalion Landing Team 1/8, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit and participated in evacuation operations from Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Major Love served as a planner at Headquarters Marine Corps Plans, Policies, & Operations, before serving on the Office of the Secretary of Defense Red Team.

Lieutenant Colonel Love served as the operations officer for 3d Marine Littoral Regiment before assuming command of 3d Littoral Combat Team.

He is also a graduate of the Infantry Mortar Leader Course, the Expeditionary Warfare School Distance Education Program, the MAWTS-1 Weapons & Tactics Instructor Course, and was a Massachusetts Institute of Technology Seminar XXI Fellow.
